Fish & Chips
Except There Are No Chips

1-cup self-rising flour
OR 1-cup all-purpose flour + 1 1/2 -tsp baking powder + 1/2-tsp salt
1-tsp salt
Pepper to taste
1-cup of beer
1-lb haddock fillets

Sift flour, salt, and pepper in a bowl
Whisk in the beer gradually until batter is smooth
Let batter rest
Shake a little salt & pepper on fish
Dust with flour
Dip the fish in the batter
Fry 6-7 minutes
Drain and keep warm
